16 January 2005 - 01:19 pm - oakland recycles

I love that in this flyer, the entire text is written in first-person perspective. Very thorough.

I'm very excited...Oakland is finally getting nifty one-cart recycling! That is much easier to deal with. Also, that means we're not using bins anymore, which means no more neighbors' paper blowing into our yard! Yay.

Apparently we're also one-upping San Jose with our new fancy composting program. My laziness finally pays off! I can get the benefits of composting without actually bothering to make my own compost bin and turning it. Go laziness.

Another fun tidbit from the oaklandrecycles website:

What should I do with my old yellow and blue bins?

You can use your old yellow and blue bins around your household for storage or utility. Or, if you do not want them, place them in your new gray recycling cart and they will be recycled.

Hee. It cracks me up that you can recycle your recycling bins.

envy. I wish our recycling were that advanced.
How dorky am I that I am excited about composting when we actually buy a house?

Dude, they better be careful with that shit. Sounds like the sort of thing that's apt to open up a wormhole or some such.
